Tom Peterson
VP Product Development

As Vice President of Product Development at U1, Tom heads the engineering groups and manages the design and development of AmbrosiaMQ , U1's high performance messaging software for large financial institutions. His team has deep experience with global messaging systems designed for high performance and high reliability.

Prior to U1, Tom was the Senior Director of Engineering for Information Advantage and later for Sterling Software. Tom led the product engineering group where he was in charge of overall development of both the server software and Windows/Web user interface development teams. His teams built award-winning software used by Global 500 corporations to analyze their data using Online Analytic Processing engines (OLAP) technology.

Tom served as President of Slicer Controls, a manufacturer of high performance multi-axis control systems used to drive machines such as CNC laser and plasma cutting tools, punch presses, and custom high speed material handling systems. Slicer designed and manufactured its own control systems and computers and Tom was also the engineering architect and manager of the hardware and software development teams. Slicer was one of the first manufacturers of single board computers and systems that were affordable to individuals and enthusiasts.

Tom was a production engineer for John Deere, responsible for improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes and the quality of products. Tom is inventor on patent #6453339 , "System and method of presenting channelized data", held by Computer Associates. His graduate work included helping start up the Intelligent Machines Laboratory at the University of Minnesota and the design and implementation of adaptive control systems.
